There are calls by the South Koreans for the US to negotiate with the terrorists who have taken some South Korean Christian Aid workers as hostages.

Should we EVER negotiate with terrorists?

no, it's counter productive and true terrorist will not hold their end of any agreement that could possibly be reached. it's been proved time after time.

NO. Only the gutless but morally superior pacifists would stoop to that. What they just don't get, and the terrorist know it; is that when you begin to talk, you empower them. The "War is not the answer" crowd is blinded by their own conceit in that they will always assume the everyone comes to the negotiating table in "Good Faith". Do I really need to illustrate how many times that has proven to be false?
You know, it could be argued that the complacency, and appeasment, strategies of the no-war crowd are responsible for just as much death and destruction as anything else.

I think if you examine history you will find that we not only chat with them but fully support them at times:

The School of the Americas
Saddam Hussein (the 80s)
General Suharto Indonesia
General Pinochet Chile
The Contras of Nicaragua
Manuel Noriega

Mostly this has been done in the name of capitalism and US business interests.

They have tried that approach, IT DON'T WORK... They aren't in the business to talk things out, they don't have a country to protect, they aren't fighting to protect anyone, they want to kill as many christians as possible and if that means killing their own kind it's worth it to them... How can anyone even begin to think that these people care about talking with us? They send 12 year old boys out with bombs on their chest to kill as many innocent people as possible.
