I decided to formula feed my daughter for 2 reasons. The 1st is when we brought her home from the hospital she would not stop crying so we tried giving her formula because I didnt have a good enough supply of milk yet. The second reason is that after we got out of the hospital she refused to latch on and breastfeed, she would just go wild and get so overwhelmed that she would not stop "rooting" to try and get the nipple in her mouth. She was too wild so we just started bottle feeding her.

After my son wouldn't latch on for 4 weeks I decided to solely pump and give him breastmilk that way. I was determined to get him to have breastmilk and as a SAHM I had the luxury of being able to pump for him. So bottle feeding for me didn't come as planned, however he did get breastmilk in bottles until 10 months that's when my milk dried up.

I started out breastfeeding exclusively. I eventually switched to formula/bottles completely when my breastmilk supply went down so much that I didnt have enough milk to feed my daughter or son.

I breast fed my first daughter for 5 weeks and had to stop due to illness. Then my second daughter was not interested in nursing and I pumped for three months. This however was difficult cuz it was like feeding her twice.
Breast milk is the best thing that you can do for your baby, but I do think there are times where formula is acceptable, it is a personal choice.

my first baby was breast fed for six weeks but was always hungry irritable & didnt sleep so we my partner and i decided to try bottle feeding him and he was a totally different baby after that first bottle he slept for six hours straight & was so happy after. that was something we hadnt really seen of him since we brought him home, then later we found out the reason i had so much trouble breastfeeding was because of my underactive thyroid and the medication i take that i probably wouldn't be able to breastfeed any more babies either so we have decided to see if i can breast feed my 2nd child whom im pregnant with now (36 weeks) if it goes well then great but i think i will more than likely be bottlefeeding him.

I actually breastfed ,but my dad died unexpectedly and the trauma made my milk dry up,so i had no choice.I use to get looks from strangers and one lady even told me i wasnt giving my baby the best start in life by bottle feeding. There are many reasons why people choose to bottle feed.My friend kept trying to breastfeed her baby because she thought it was the right thing to do.But her baby wasnt happy, she wasnt happy and the baby wasnt feeding properly. All the best if you are choosing what to do.

I think you will find that alot of mothers did not choose to bottle feed they just simply could not breast feed there are many reasons.
For me the pain of tring to feed my first with thrush in my nipple and the fact that my son just wouldnt take was enough of a bad memory to choose the second time round to bottle feed.
I did not want to cringe every time my baby needed to be feed I wanted to enjoy feeding her.

With my 2 yr old,i breastfed but supplemented with formula from time to time..he was over 9 lbs and the breastmilk wasnt enough for him. He developed thrush as well as on my nipples and caused a lot of cracking, itching, pain, irritation and him not wanting to feed.so i stayed exclusively on bottle. with my current baby now 2 weeks old,he is on breast and bottle and doing well. if he doesnt take enough milk at the breast i give him formula and he only takes bottles at night..its been working out well. i think any woman regardless of whether u breasfeed or not, whether u even try or not should not get put down because of her choice of formula feeding...we as mothers give our babys whatever we think is best for them,as long as we feed our children and nurture them properly we should all get appreciated for the hard work of being a mom.

The option to breastfeed was taken out of my hands with my oldest daughter because of complications due to the delivery (my water had been broke for far too long and I had to go on some pretty stout antibiotics), and with my middle daughter, I was put on antipsychotics for PPD, BiPolar Disorder, and PTSD so I didn't want to breastfeed her with all that crap in my system, and with my youngest I chose not to breastfeed her because I was scared that they would put me on the same meds again, and because I had found that bottlefeeding was not bad, infact both of my oldest two are happy, healthy, and smart. And as I have stated before, if formula was as bad as people make it out to be, why is it still on the market?

Many adoptive mothers don't be conscious of that that's achieveable to inspire lactation for an observed infant so feed with formulation. some pursue assistance on lactation and are waiting to totally or partly breastfeed.
