Probably just the parties got boring. I got to a point there was only so many times I could sit at a party and basically have the same conversation with the same person or a similar person. So now I go to different parties every year. one BBQ, One Xmas Party, etc.......Keeps it fresh and I find I enjoy it more.

It may be just that your definition of fun is changing. As we get older we see things in different ways. Personally I prefer dinner parties to parties.
