I live in an apartment complex and have a golden retriever puppy. He's easily the cutest dog around, everyone's in agreement on that. There are a number of Indian families (from India, not Native Americans) who also live in the complex, and our dog gets nothing but dirty looks from them. Everybody else comes up to him and pets him and stuff, but they avoid him like the plague.
Any ideas why?

For the record, there are other ethnic families here (Chinese, African American, Hispanic) who always say hi to him, and these are multiple families of Indians. I didn't know if this was a cultural thing or not.

I do not believe there is any cultural reason for Indian people to hate dogs. Maybe you are misinterpreting there looks. Try saying hello to them.

hello Jv.how r u? im Mr.arrianne,yes i agree with you.indian from india hate dogs,but most of them are muslims not the hindus or other relegions.Especifically muslim indian hate dogs because according to their holy book dogs are dirty,But the fact is they only limits their mind in evrything they see around the world.they try to forget that everything around big or small,man made or not its all from God. i know a lot of thing about them since i work with indian people here in Saudi Arabia. Theres no legal or depper reason why they hate dogs,its only being antipatic or personnel attitude only.They HAte not only dogs but also Pigs.By the way,this idea is based only in my personal opinion,no legal bases except my mind.

I don't know anything about indian culture, but maybe they're culture has something against dogs. I'm just putting out the possibility.

They do not hate they are afraid, because in India there are many street dogs that have diseases and stuff. These dogs in India are mad. They don t hate them just afraid.

I love dogs, my mom loves dogs, ut my dad (india) hates dogs. I guess there are so many homeless on the street in ndia, it makes me feel so sad, but the ones roaming the streets in Inida are very violent.

There are always families that won't like pets, no matter if they are White, Hispanic, Black, Indian, o Skimos.
It does not have anything to do with race, dude.

It's probably because they want to eat your dog and they know you would get upset if they tried.
