Yo its me..... Bush appoints the top 5 people, who come from the food, pharma and biochemical industries. And, many of those others you mentioned also come from those same industries. It's just as bad as the congress/lobbying industry revolving door.

And, yes, under Bush there has been huge cuts in food safety inspectors. As a result we get the lettuce contamination that killed people.

The Bush appointees aren't helping. But it's been a long time since the FDA protected anyone except the drug companies and Agribusiness..
I have a hard time accepting it myself, but not everything is Bush's fault alone.

Where did you get the idea that Bush appoints people to the FDA? There are 5,000 people working for FDA, maybe 3 are appointees, the rest are civil servants. Even you could apply if you have a medical, pharmacy, nursing or statistics degree. Bush does not interview everyone who works for the Federal Government - you do realize that don't you. Oh and most of the current FDA policies are result of "reforms" from the Clinton Administration and I woud guess that 60% or more of the current Civil Servants were hired during the Clinton Adminstration. The Civil Servants minlessly adhere to policy - policies put in place in the 90s (Prescription Drug User Fee Act and FDA Modernization Act -Clinton signed both).

The FDA has been nothing more than people who argue for Animal Feces in your hamburgers and carcinogens in your diet soft drinks...
They have ALWAYS been lobbyists against your health for the big corporations who can afford them.
