My daughter and I are visiting in MI right now and she is having such a hard time with it. It is hot and sticky and she does not want to go to sleep. Right now she is in her crib occasionally getting up and screaming but by the time I get to the corner or the stairs she is back to eating her bottle and sleeping. She is cutting 8 new teeth and for a few nights I had to wrap her up real snug and hold her to force her to go to sleep. I am soooo frustrated.... I have run out of ideas

She has a fan in the room to cool it off
I have tried teething tablets, swabs, and gels
I have tried baby tylenol
I have run out of ideas to make her more comfortable

we have never had a problem with teething before and she always cuts more than one tooth at a time. She has a very high tolerance for pain. The tylenol is more to help her sleep than anything. We cant drive around because gas is 3dollars a gallon and I am excluded from my parents insurance and a hotel is just to expensive right now. She finally crashed for the night. So I guess she either cried herself to sleep or has finally relaxed. I am hoping that the next few nights go by smoothly then we will be back in VA

It's a different setting than she is used to.... along with teething that would be a reason she isn't sleeping well... also... instead of tylenol, try motrin it seems to help a little better than tylenol I've noticed... you can also alternate between the two. Give her motrin every 6 hours and tylenol every 4. And simply fighting sleep is not uncommon at this age either... sometimes you just have to let her know who's mom and hold her snug till she gives in... believe me it's harder on you than her. And, don't jump so fast to her when she wakes... give her time to soothe herself back to sleep (as you mentioned that she has). Keep up the good work!

You can try baby motrin, it lasts longer...as for her being hot and sticky...that is a tough one...we're in Japan right now and it gets pretty sticky here too...I'm sure you're already doing this, but maybe just put her to bed in a onesie/t-shirt or just her diaper...something light...you can also try giving her a cool wash cloth to chew on or play with...hang in there, once those teeth break through she'll feel better...I hope the next few days go by quickly and you're back home soon!!!

Sweet Pea I know you are frustrated, but her is what to do. I know she is teething and it is almost impossible to ease the pain but use Motrin instead of Tylenol it works better and faster and keeps the pain way longer. Try the J&J bedtime bath/lotion to calm her at bedtime and she will fall right o sleep. I promise you she will sleep at least 5 to 6 hours throught the night. Good luck and God bless!

when my 5 kids were cutting teeth I wrapped an icecube in a clean cloth and let then chew on it. Before putting her down for the night give her a luke warm bath and let her sleep in just a diaper or a onesie.

Have you tried one of those gel-filled teething rings that you put in the freezer? Also try a cold compress on her forehead( a wash cloth with cold water wrung out ) to keep her cool.

Is there any way you can just go sleep in a hotel that has air conditioning? Or drive her around in the air conditioned car until she falls asleep?
