The 1970s are described as a period of stagflation, meaning economic stagnation coupled with price inflation, as well as higher interest rates.
Price inflation caused interest rates to rise to unprecedented levels (above 12% per year). The prime rate hit 21.5% in December 1980, the highest rate in U.S. history.
The economy suffered double-digit inflation, coupled with very high interest rates, oil shortages, high unemployment, and slow economic growth.
The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan marked the end of détente, and I did nothing.
From November 4, 1979 until January 20, 1981, a 444-day period, I sat with my thumb up my arss while 63 americans were held hostage in Iran.
Unlike, GWB, when I ran for re-election I lost 44 states and was completely humiliated in one of the worst landslides ever…..because I was the worst president in history!
My years since have been spent supporting the terrorists in Palestine and building dog houses!
My Name is Jimmy Carter!

At least he tried to do good... Bush only works to help himself.
Since he left out of office Carter has done a lot. Your last charges thus, are despicable.
As for the election, Carter lost because he didn't insist that he was making imaginary progress.

Libs recall what a train wreck he was and really didn't see value in him until after he left the WH. He gave away the Panama Canal (that the US built), allowed Castro to empty his prisons and mental institutions into the USA, was best remembered as ruining the economy; the liberals hated him for paving the way for Reagan to clean-up Carter's mess, creating Reagan democrats. Carter snubbed the DC "insiders", further alienating him from all but the true socialists. Carter was a HORRIBLE president.
So, later, he became a global apologist for socialism; the liberal media finally accepted him and from then on, Carter has benefited from liberal revisionism, rewriting history to hide his dismal failure as a President. The one good thing about Carter, he does have some genuine humanitarian qualities. Although he carries the socialist flag, Carter is not the cold blooded con atist that the Clintons, Kerry, Gore, Kennedy and on and on and on are....

Well I was a kid back then and I know my mom and dad had jobs (High unemployment)
(high interest rates) I know back then It made sense to have a saving account because rates were 5% most banks now offer less then 1 % no wonder no one saves anymore.
People seem to act as if the Carter years were some kind of hell and everybody was starving to death.
I know we didn't always get what we wanted back then but it's no different then today well ok yes it is now if we don't have the money to buy stuff we just charge it.
(The prime rate hit 21.5% ) Credit cards ? whats a credit card. that's right they were not used by many back then.
So how bad was it really ?

properly specific, Obama is obviously worse than the final puppet of David Rockefeller's Trilateral value - that would desire to be Mr. Carter - yet this image isn't information of that. somewhat, his movements are. working example, he's clearly following Zbignew Brezinski's insane distant places coverage to a 'T,' and his economic rules are straight away out of the corporatist Trilateral playbook.

Carter was a horrible President. He has, however, done more good things since leaving office than the last 3 Republican ex-Presidents combined.
Maybe I'm wrong. Name me the last Republican ex-President to win (or even be a finalist for) the Nobel Peace Prize. You need to go back to 1906 to find the only Republican to win it. Carter is one of 2 Democrats to win the honor.

Jimmy Carter's worst sin was that he was exactly what the voters wanted. A Washington outsider who wouldn't engage in the same old political shenanigans, who had high morals and who wouldn't get us involved in military quagmires overseas.
I don't think Jimmy Carter should lose any sleep over giving people what they wanted.
