It's easy to say before "Free Agency" dynasties like the Browns, Steelers, 49ers, etc. were great (and that's exactly what they all were...GREAT!)

But if you consider the Pats as a dynasty the you also might want to say that not only did they have to draft the right players but they also had to keep the core players together for all this time. True, some players came and went but that shows how much harder it is today to keep having success year to year.

In my opinion the Pats are the best dynasty so far.

By the way...I'm not biased in this opinion, I'm a Giants fan.

It's gotta be the 49ers in the 80s. They were the most feared team in the league at the time. The trio of Montana, Rice, and Craig was a dominating force. Add Ronnie Lott and the defensive unit they had then, they knew how to play the game. Of course, all the credit for that goes to Bill Walsh. He transformed the Niners from a pretender to THE contender. Hands down, the Niners dominated the decade and knew the fundamentals of the game better than any other team of the time.

tough call, but my pick is the San Francisco 49ers of the 80s. Bill Walsh took a rock bottom team with absolutely nothing to look forward to, and turned them into the dominant team of the decade in only two years. The 49ers had back to back HOF QBs, the greatest WR ever, and were a good 15 years ahead of their time with the West Coast Offense. The 49ers were the model other franchises attempted to emulate...but they were often imitated, never duplicated.

Forget the Niners, the only reason they won so many games is because the owner had ties with the mafia. Go ahead and deny but you've got to admit that its extremely convenient that as soon as the owner resigned due to such allegations that they started sucking again. Anyways I say the best dynasty is the New England Patriots. They built a dynasty off of a team full of a bunch of no-namers (at the time) and now everybody hates them because they dominate the league. Just my opinion :)

I would have to start with the 1960's Packers, then 1990's 49ers, 1970's Steelers and for the first part of 2000's Pats

Agree with you.
Amazing
But was an old AFL fan and the Packers did some interesting things in the 1960s.
Can debate this for many hours.

60's packers
70's stealers
80's 9ers
90's cowboys
2000's patriots

The raiders are the team of the decades, even though the last 5 years they have sucked no one can say they werent always a team to be reckoned with.
