It is NOT always the asker that reports. Actually they mostly don't. Responders like to flag more.

Some people report others they don't like. That's jealousy and/or cowardice.
Some people report others because the poster is being so disruptive to the forum -- that's the purpose of the function.

Get under a few people's skins and you're almost assured a violation notice. Of course, what some may seem as "harmless" Q&A can be seen by others as merely "baiting" tactics to be used to ellicit emotional responses (simliar to trolling).
Of course, I was told that if one cannot behave oneself in a proper manner, then that person must go sit at the kiddie's table.

i got such a violation today for a response that someone just didn't like.
"Deleted Answer: war crimes? a mind is a terrible thing to waste but then that's your choice."
i thought it was funny, obviously they didn't.
i sent an email to the askor to see why and he sent me a rant that i had a violent desire to threaten him...it was a long rant...wow..some people need to realize this is for entertainment only and that no political issues are going to be solved in YA. but to use the abuse button cause you don't like an answer to your question, ...i thought that was called free speech.

Because they an't come up with a good answer for a question and it frustrates the heck out of them. So instead of just hitting the backspace, they report.

As much as I hate your questions I would never report you...I wonder if you can say the same thing.
Take the moron xtos across...completely unstable and annoying but I never report him...he amuses me. I would even pay YA a fee just to be able to tweak him now and then.

In my book, anybody who blocks anyone or reports abuse (unless it's way out of hand) does not support free speech or has a 'victim' mentality!

Anybody can report anything for any reason. However, that doesn't make it right.

All of the above. And they want to get rid of certain people because their views clash with their propaganda and agenda.

con.s dont like the fact that libs are open-minded and have real opinions and different views. If they dont agree on others' OPINIONS, they report it as abuse. Its sad really.
