Yes, I have. I had this best friend but she was like a train wreck. She has a drinking problem and a drug problem. She has 4 kids by 4 different fathers. When she started coming to my house in the middle of the night drunk and high with no regard to the fact that I actually had a job and had to go to work in the morning or that my kids had to go to scholl I had had enough. Then one day she camde to my house and went to use the bathroom and called out to me "Do you have a plastic bag?" I was like "Why?" she answers (and I am NOT kidding) "I forgot to pull down my panties when I went to the bathroom".... Seriously? You are like 35 years old!?!?! There were a lot of examples like this.

So I had to start avoiding her calls, and still do. It has been like 4 years and she still calls. I don't answer. I just can not have someone like that in my life or around my kids. It sucks because I miss the person she used to be, but that person is gone.

I had to let go of many because the relationships were toxic. I don't think only one person is the toxic reason. It's kind of: It takes two to tango. the relationship is toxic, not the person.

I am not sure what you mean by toxic. Is it there life style or just their attitude. What ever reason, if you have to let a friend go, they were never a true friend to begin with. No to your question, I have never had that problem, maybe because I am so tolerant of others. I am not perfect either.

Someone I considered a close friend. She kept willingly getting herself into bad relationships, spent most of her time with a broken heart, and all of our visits and conversations revolved around how devastated she was. She didn't give a crap about anything in regard to me - I called in tears to tell her that my young child had been diagnosed with a terrible illness and was told "Gee, I'd love to talk, but I need to run into the grocery store. I'll call you later." And, then she never called. She had a child the same age. I gave up after the last married guy who wouldn't leave his wife.

It is the toxicity of so many people that has kept me from forming strong bonds of friendship with females. It seems that they will all become jealous or manipulative or gossip behind my back. As such, i stay away from them. i do have a best friend, though. He is a man. And rather than filling my life with toxicity and poison, he fills it with light, fresh air, and joy. Gwiz. Best wishes!!

Yes. 10 years ago and we had been best friends for 15 years. It was really hard. That song "Don't Speak" by No Doubt always reminds me of it because I remember listening to the words and crying really hard.

Yea. I'm still friends with her, just not BEST friends. We still hang out too but just not as much. She's now pregnant at 15 years old with a drinking problem and living at random friend's houses because her mom kicked her out. =(

Yes, Only once. We met in first grade and became as close as sisters for the next 15 years. We even double dated together. Shared our life secrets. Then one day she came to me crying, asking my forgiveness. She had slept with my fiance! I called him and asked him if it was true. It was but "only once" he said. I said goodbye to both of them.
