I had a 97 Shadow American Classic Edition that averaged 42 mpg until I changed the pipes and rejetted it. Then the mileage dropped to 32...K ;o)

I loved mine, shaft drive was awesome. I had trouble with the aftermarket pipes coming unwelded from the mount but doubt its a common problem. Make sure its in good shape and you will have no worries.
