it use to belong to my little brother, but he no longer uses it.

it's about 3ft wide x 2.5ft tall.
do you think it will be sufficient for a compost bin.
there are pretty big gaps where the sides meet, but i'm thinking about adding extra wholes to it.

What do you think?

could work I suppose. You'll definitely need lots of oxygen holes. Turn it often! Remember no meat or oils. Nothing for rats to eat their way into it for. Best to call a greenhouse and ask them. but not bad idea. Wouldn't have thought it myself. let us know how it turns out!
I utilize a lot of perennials (come back every year) and really have no need for compost. I just mulch with Cypress mulch every 2 years, lots of leaves over 7-8 layers of newspaper (b&w only) and Osmocote beads for fertilizer. I've even got Gerbera daisies that have come back and they're an annual! Yup, bought 'em last year, and they've come back this year with blooms! Just left 'em alone, didn't do a thing!
Couldn't believe it!
Keep us posted on your composter!

Compost needs a lot of oxygen! And this may be way too small once you get started. But try it....a good first step!

Looks like a good small composter.
Definitely add more holes for water and air.
