As far as I know, you can't buy a blue jay. They live here naturally, and you should view them in that environment.

If you'd like to own a bird, try Petco or Petsmart. They both have a variety of birds to choose from have each have locations throughout the Houston area.

They say you should leave baby birds because the mother is usually up in a tree watching and bringing it food. But if the mother has disappeared you can either let nature take its course or take it home and look after it. If you do that you would have to catch worms and grubs and bugs, crush them up and feed them to the baby in a dropper or something similar every couple of hours. I think blue jays eat fruit too, so you would have to find out what to feed it. Good luck.

Don't do it, cuz it is against the law. Here's an excerpt from TPWD site.
"Wild Birds: All wild birds that migrate through or are indigenous to Texas, along with their plumage or other parts, eggs, nests and young are protected from harming, killing and/or possession by state and federal law..."
So, even if you find someone, you could get in trouble with the law.
