they had the NUMBER ONE ranked pass defense last year, but couldnt move the ball anywhere but backwards. now with the upgrades at quarterback, running back, and some key O-line additions, as well as a brand new coaching staff, maybe they are poised to shock some people?

i'm not thinking even saying anything about playoffs, being as hard as the AFC conference is,
but they should be much improved, no?

Definitely look for improvement, though I'll be happier when they sign their #1 draft pick. I winced when I saw Art Shell signing for head coach last season. This new guy should bring in some needed enthusiasm and energy, like Gruden did. And lastly, they've been down and out so long, it's time - look at the Warriors last season.

GO RAIDERS!

If the offense can't score points, they're doomed to another top 10 pick. The defense was good...but it wasn't a scoring defense like Chicago's was...If Oakland can't score like that..what's the big deal? Oakland's D keeps them in games...only because the scores stay low...but if it comes down to a final drive to decide the game...HAH...not a chance. Oakland will surprise only maybe 4 teams this year...yes I just said they'd go 4-12..what of it? The team needs to really work on that offensive line...Didn't San Diego sack them 7 times in one game? And didn't like five other teams do the same thing? Sorry, but Oakland isn't going to be good, improved? Maybe...but they're not going anywhere this year. Micheal Bush will be a great option in the offense though when they do fix the O-Line and get some WRs that actually play...

Upgrades at QB? They haven't even signed Jamarcus Russell yet, and when they do, they aren't even planning on starting him! They are going to start Culpepper probably, and he is a loser. I don't recall Oakland getting a new running back, still just Lamont Jordan, so no upgrade there. Key O-line additions? A third round pick? That is going to fix that horrible line that was the main reason they sucked so bad? Get real. Lane Kiffin? The USC O coordinater? He is going to find out that the NFL is way faster than college, especially when you are commanding the worst team in it. And why did you use the word deadly if you don't expect them to make the playoffs? That doesn't make sense. No, they will not be much improved.

Go Raiders! now that we sign a real QB, hopefully he's heal, the Raiders are gonna be explosive on the passing games and running games. Last year are QB is suck are running games nowhere to be found, but now we sign some new running backs should help. Dante Culppeper will be an upgrades from Brook and Walters. Our defense was awesome especially the passing defense rank #1 and the running defense is ain't that bad rank like 15 or so. I'm expecting alot of good thing from the Raiders this season, unlike the last couples of season we are the laughing stocks of football. Go Raiders!

Sleeper, you mean sleeping aid. Watching them offensively will put you to sleep. They didn't hire a head coach, they haven't signed Russell. The Raider D will be a top 5 D in the league, but that is hardly enough.

The Raiders are on the clock for the #1 pick in next years draft.

Crappy teams like the Raiders end up with the number one pass defense because nobody HAS to pass on them. If you do not have to pass the ball, why would you in the first place? Passing is too risky, keep the ball on the ground and control the clock. If the team lets you run all over them, no need for receivers.

Wasn't the Chiefs meant to be the sweetness playoff group final 365 days? considering all human beings's writing off Dallas, i'mma say them. They fastened the optimal project of bull rushing up the middle on Romo. They fastened the predictability of the O, with the addition of Gronk Jr, Gavin Escobar and dynamic Terrence Williams, who led the NCAA in Yards final 365 days, without RG3. The protection is what ruined Dallas final 365 days with 6 starters out with injuries. upload Kiffin, a metamorphosis to 4-3 with suits each and each participant on the d element greater suited. Corners breakout 365 days 2. MoClay will beast this 365 days with Dware and Spencer and Ratliff and Hatcher rushing after the QB each and each down & Lee and Carter flying everywhere in the sphere. Its gonna be a foul exciting D and the NFCEast is often huge open.

With the division they're in (Denver, San Diego, Kansas City) look for a repeat from last year and the Russell hold-out is'nt exactly helping them out right now. I'll give the Raiders 5 wins MAX, any more than that and i'll be very surprised.

i wouldnt think so. i mean russell is just a rookie and he is missing training camp, so he will be behind in the learning curve. the thing is, the raiders defense is really good but their offense is anemic. rhodes and jordan are nothing special especially if the raiders dont improve the oline. which brings me to my next point, the oline is horrendous. it wouldnt matter who you put at QB or RB they will get eaten alive because the QB wont have time to throw and the RB wont have any holes to burst through. not to mention they are in the toughest division in football.
but despite through all that, i think the raiders can still get 6 wins.

I completely agree with you. Their defense is fantastic. If their offense can play well, they really have a shot. I'm still going to hold off the playoff plans but they have a chance to be .500 if they can run the ball well and Russell plays half way decently.

And that's coming from a broncos fan, some of their biggest rivals.
