Why would you use it on your lawn boy? Wouldn't you want to use it "in" your lawn boy?

The treatment shown here does a good job of cleaning out a carb. But there are a couple things to know. It is high octane jet fuel. It can make a 2 cycle engine run hot. So you need to use very little and listen to the engine and be aware of overheating on a 2 cycle. On a 4 cycle you still want to limit how much you use because of the high octane.
I put just a splash of it in my gas tank on the power equipment when I think the carbs need cleaning. I am not sure if a "splash" is 1/2 ounce or more.
I don't treat the gasoline in my Red Gas Can. Because of the high octane of the gas treatment I want to have clean raw gas to put in the mower after the carb is clean. Also the non-treated gas can be used to dilute the gas in the lawn mower if you over treated it.

Why do you want to know this? Are you having a problem with the lawn mower running? If so , it is entirely possible that you have dirt where carberator cleaner will not help. Try backing your fuel mixing adjustment screws all the way out and then use an air hose to blow through the tiny opening. Do NOT hold the air gun any closer than 12" from the port. reinstall the needle screw and tighten until it touches the base of it's seat, then back it off 2 1/2 turns. this will give you a rough djustment on your mixers, start the mower and after it is warm, adjust until it purrs like a kiten. To answer your question directly, yes you can use an additive to your fuel to help keep your fuel distribution system clean.

I use carb cleaner for cleaning carbs, removing oil/grease from motors before painting, and removing grease from deck spindle assemblies. It will remove paint, so be careful.
Just spraying carb cleaner in a carb, wont clean it, it needs to be removed and disasembled. If you want to try it ( it isnt that hard) , i can give you the procedure i use.
