i dont understand this at all. my sister is tall and thin and eats everything and anything. she does not gain a pound. she is skinny and NEVER exercises!!!! i exercise every day for at least half an hour, and do 4 sets of different sit ups. i weigh 120 pounds and am 5'6" so i am fine with my weight but i have to work for it and it seems so unfair. if i even eat one ice cream cone i'll find myself weighing more the next day. i do not understand why/how she can just sit around and eat all day and not gain a pound when if i eat the smallest unhealthy thing and i gain like, 5!!! its so annoying and stupid. i get sick of having to work for a good body. (*not to mention the fact that i had to go to weight watchers to get to the weight i am now)
and im sorry that this is like a complain fest but im really fed up with this!!! any reasons why this happens!!???

thankS!

First off I want to say you sound thin enough to me being 5'6 and 120lbs. You are under weight actually. But to try and answer your question. Some people have a higher metabolism than others. Which means they burn off calories faster with little or no effort.. Stop worrying you are fine.....:)

Imagine is right on! Skipping meals, undereating actually slows the body's metabolism. The mini meals are idea consuming no more than 3 ounces meat protein at a time. Cut back on the carbos unless they are whole grain, forget the refined sugar, eat fruit but not to excess.

Life isn't fair, she got a different body model too......we are genetically designed to look a certain way....our body outline. Some will be thin, some will carry any little extra ounce on their thighs.

its all about
METABOLISM

some people have fast ones others have slow ones

you can train yours to be faster and thus more effective

usually skipping meals slows the metabolism way down

yet on the other hand eating like 5 or 6 little meals thru the day keeps the metabolism spinning and you stay slimmer with less effort

it isnt the exercise that counts as much as the staying busy and not camping in front of the computer or tv

If you were on the heavy side before, chances you did a lot of dieting before you lost the weight, which shot your metabolisim. Is your sister under 18? If so warn her to be careful with her diet, because it will catch up with her soon. Good for you for working so hard to stay healthy, it isn't easy. But you are doing a good job, keep it up. :)

yup-its bad now,no doubt.but-metabolism slows with every decade u age.if u keep eating sensibly and excercising routinely,at 45,u will retain ur youthful looks.if she keeps eating large portions and junk food, and doesnt excercise, she will gain weight as she ages.by ur 40's,she will be jealous of u.i know it seems a long way off,but it goes faster than u think!keep up ur efforts,it will all balance out/pay off in the long run!

If your over 18 sometimes your metabolizm gets really slow. i havb a cousin whos thin and eats like a pig. And if your a teenager it's normal to gain alot of weight because your hips get wider. your breast get heavy and other things happen. doesnt mean your fat.
