I sure remember those days.... The chattering classes in an uproar over Reagan's "counterproductive" speeches and for sure that two bit actor moron without an Ivy League education and no brains to speak of could only drive us to annihilation by the mighty Soviets. Him and his clueless, dunderhead idiot Brit friend and ally Margaret Thatcher were just two dumb peas in a pod.

tos acrosso.... get your hands on a copy of the video to the song "Land of Confusion" by Genesis. The theme is one of Reagan and Thatcher causing the bomb to go off. And that's just one example.

I guess some people just aren't equipped to grasp the nuance of sarcasm.

Your comments display your ignorance and which way your politics slither.

Those two dumb peas in a pod sure made split-pea soup of your so-called "mighty Soviets" now, didn't they? You sound sorry that it happened that way. You some kind of pinko commie sympathizer?

And Reagan and Thatcher have gone down in history as two of the great leaders of the Western world ... whereas I've never heard of you before this question popped up.

... And since when does a video by a rock-group like Genesis display anything remotely resembling reality?

Sigh.

OK Kid, open up your US history book again.

Reagan was the first US President to REDUCE the country's nuclear arsenal, bright boy. Remember the INF treaty? START negotiations?

"Reagan and George H.W. Bush presided over the reduction of the American nuclear arsenal by half, which was an astounding and wonderful turn in the story. The tragedy—again, here goes that momentum—is revealed powerfully, then, when the ultimate peace president took power, William Clinton, and he presided over the elimination of almost none of the American nuclear arsenal at a time when the Soviet Union was effectively dismantling itself."

"...the superpowers had begun in 1982 with the aim of reducing rather than merely limiting their arsenals of nuclear warheads and launch platforms (missiles and bombers)."

Reagan likewise said NOTHING about starting a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) was the by-word of the time. Basically that meant any action would be met with the complete and utter obliteration of both sides. Hardly the doctrine of someone who wants to start a war.

'Course you don't know that... You're just another hippie who thinks conservative Presidents are warmongers and going to blow the world up, aren't you?

PS and who can forget SDI:

"The mistake Ronald Reagan's liberal critics made was to assume that because he was a conservative and because he supported a huge defense buildup, he was some sort of dude-ranch warmonger. Wrong. Ronald Reagan was a visionary, dreaming of reversing the threat of nuclear annihilation. That was what the INF treaty was all about. That is what SDI was aimed at. The SDI 'umbrella' was intended to make nuclear weapons obsolete."*

So...yeah...like I said.

Remember "The Day After"? I had nightmares of nuclear annihilation all through my childhood, and it was from hearing the liberals constantly screeching about it on the TV. And we were probably safer from a nuclear war under Reagan than we were under Carter's administration, because the Soviets knew Reagan would respond to an attack immediately and without contemplating his navel.

I remember because I was in Germany at that time and people made a point of telling me what a bad president he was. But when the Berlin wall came down the very same people came to me to tell me what a great man he was.

I remember those days and because I remember I know liberals never change. Liberals are suicidal traitors who demonize the people protecting their freedom and glorify the evil people who would love to kill all liberals.
My advice to today's liberals is to wake up and smell the jihad.

Do you remember his "War on drugs"? That was back when Lil 'w' and his brothers were caught doing lines in the whitehouse by the Secret Service staff.

Do you remember how he wined and dined the Air Traffic Controllers union for their votes, then backstabbed them when they went on strike?

Boy, those were the good old days, weren't they?
