My leapord gecko is not eating anymore. I have had her for about 5 years, and all of a sudden she will not eat. It has been about 3 days and nothing. I got crickets, and even her favorite meal worms. She is also acting wierd by digging under her tree in the exhibit, and trying to climb out of the cage constantly. I have no clue what to do. Can anyone help me please???

If pregnant would that slow down her eating cycle and the amount of food intake?

She is very heatly great color, and large in weight. She is not the only one though there is another gecko in the tank. She has laid eggs before. The cage is covered in vita sand and never had any problems with that before. Im gonna wait a couple days she did eat about 12 mealworms 3 days ago 6 and 6 so Im not too worried. I was just starting to worry.

Is she an only gecko? If she's in with males, she could be pregnant. Did you check to make sure her cage is the right temperature? 3 days isn't that long to go without food to be honest, my geckos usually only eat once or twice a week. I fill their bowls, and they usually stay full for days, and then one day - empty. So I wouldn't worry just yet. Do you know if she's been pooping every day ? Is she on sand? Maybe she accidentally ate some sand or bark and got an impaction. If she doesn't poop, take her to the vet. You can try giving her one or two tiny drops of baby oil into her mouth, it helps fix impactions sometimes. But if she hasn't pooped it's definitely a problem, if she's pooping and just not eating, she's ok for now. If she doesn't eat for a week, see a vet.

Edit: Being pregnant won't decrease her food intake right away, but she'll eat less around the time she lays eggs. Get a tupperware container with a lid, and put wet moss in it, and cut a large hole for her to climb in and out. She'll lay her eggs in there. You'll have to incubate them for 60 days, so you might want to figure out where to get an incubator if you think she's pregnant. Otherwise the eggs will die. If you're not prepared for that you need to separate her from any males, otherwise they'll keep breeding and you'll have a lot of dead eggs. Plus, you shouldn't let her breed constantly because she'll get weak and thin and possibly die.

Look her over really well, does she have any dark spots that weren't there before? Have you offered her a place to swim? Could she be impacted? Have you changed the type of bedding you are using? Any possibility of parasites? These are all just some general things to consider, of course if she won't eat soon, you may need to call a local rep vet & take her in.

Just because she never had a problem with sand impaction before doesn't mean she won't eventually. Many do. It is just not recommended as a safe substrate for leos. I've seen them die from sand impaction. I would get rid of the sand and give her a warm water soak in case she is dehyrated. Just one possibility.

for stay crickets you will possibly desire to get a cricket keeper there like 5 greenbacks. or you will possibly desire to purchase ineffective crickets yet they might desire to be refriderated the two at petco attempt hand feeding them positioned meal/super worms in dish and positioned the gecko by utilising it so he can see it, wish theyre ok!!!
