ok my car is in a body shop and i have a thousand dollar deductible i have to pay but when i went to see the shop owner she said i could not get my car until i paid my thousand dollar deductible, then she told me i had a week to get the thousand dollar deductible and she'll store my car during that week and after the week is up she said she will no longer store my car in her storage unit but keep it in the parking lot and she is no longer responsible for the car even if the car is stolen and she'll charge me thirty dollars a day for everyday that the car is left there after the week and also if i try to steal my own car from her after the week is up, she is goin to take me to court and file a lawsuit not for payn the thousand dollar deductible but for stealin my car off her property even though she said she wouldnt be responsible for it what should i do cuz this sounds a little fishy to me

What sounds fishy?

She's not running a PARKING LOT - she's running an AUTO SHOP...

The system allows shop owners the option of figuratively putting a gun to your head and say "pay me now or else". If you didn't think that you had to pay everything up front along with a bogus storage fee, you should have paid more for the insurance and/or taken the car somewhere else.
I personally would have done the later option because the shop owner is obviously out to make a buck off of your pain and inconvenience and a money-grubber to boot!
If she lets your car be stolen she is open to whatever you see fit to do in return:

Basically you entered into a contract when you hired this body shop to do some work for you. The insurance company paid their part minus the thoudsand dollar deductible which is your responsibilty. Since your car is on her business property shes using it as collaterol til you pay up. Your car is on her property so its under her rules and you really dont have any choice except to pay and then retrieve your car. Theres nothing fishy here, good luck

The body shop is legally doing what they are allowed to do.You are lucky that they are being nice enough to store it inside for a week at no charge.Sounds like they are pretty accommodating.
