Don't take two days. Take two hours a day, even one hour a day and work up to more. Start small. Everyone needs time and that will give you more to give. So no you are not neglecting them, you are just taking care of you too.

No it would not be selfish at all. I think you should take a week. Of course I do not know everything about your current situation, but I think if you maybe had another relative or someone watch your house instead of just leaving them you might feel better. Depending on your daughter's age, you could hire a caretaker to watch your mom (if she cannot be alone), and leave your daughter with one of her friends. That way she could be having fun while you are away. If you don't take time for yourself you'll end up resenting your mom and daughter and that could end up making you a bad caregiver. You need YOU time!! Everyone does. If only for a day and you visit a spa. Massages are a god send.

You absolutely need time for yourself. You have more responsibility than most people could comprehend. Find someone to help with your mother, like a sibling, her church, an aide who can come in for 2 days, or something like that.
As for your daughter, is her father in the picture at all? Perhaps him or one of his relatives, if they are stable, can take her for 2 days.
I don't think you would be neglecting them. The mentally healthier you are, the more equipped you are to handle their problems. I would not feel guilty in the least!

Absolutely not! Everybody needs a break from routine to rejuvenate themselves. When you're away from the routine for a couple days or even a day, you will appreciate them more when you get back. Don't feel bad. You're not a bad mother or a bad daughter just because you need a little alone time.

if someone can look after your mother and daughter while your gone than go have a blast. every once in a while you need to get away, 2 days a year is definately do-able.
a little food for thought
if your close to "losing it" than what kind of care (for your mom) and guidance (for your daughter) will you be able to give.
remember what goes on in vegas stays in vegas
have fun and come home a better person

u're exactly a responsible person, not selfish, i agree u take 2 days leave, depress your tension is a good point, otherwise u would collapse, just find some good friends to take care your sick mom and your daughter, tell your boss now, just 2 days ,may try 1 day or 12 hours, not a big deal, right!!

I think you deserve some you time, and I think they'll understand. You are there for them 24/7 and 2 mesely days you take out of 365 days I think is okay. Just have a cell phone on hand just in case something happens to your mom.

Take the 2 days, you need to keep yourself healthy physically and mentally to continue taking care of them. And do not feel guilty. I was in the same position many years ago, you need some time to yourself and it's not selfish.

No! It would not be selfish of you to take a few days to yourself. In fact, I would go so far as to say, it would be good for your mother, your daughter and your job. Coming back refreshed and rested will be more rewarding to everyone involved, including yourself.
