No, they have voted against every one, women's rights, black's rights, handicapped rights, unions, all forms of economic assistance, labor laws for adults and children, etc.. They believe in socialism for the rich, and democracy for everyone else. When the trickle down theory does not work, they say people suffer because of genetic and character flaws. They are successful because of their virtue, chosen by God to rule and enjoy the blessings of a rich life, while all the rest are more like farm animals to be husbandried by their superiors. Their motto is "If God did not want them sheared, He would not have made them sheep."

Very good... ever seen how they fall all over themselves in yellow ribbons when the VA comes by?
Or how they worship firefighters and police?
Or how they show up at school board meetings to demand that even more money be transferred from the arts department into the football games.
Ever seen the way they call and complain to the city that there is a "deadly" pothole in their perfect road while the people on the other side of the tracks are given tickets for ignoring broken lights while people are shooting at them?
I guess when we pay taxes for things, and the money goes into Bush's private oil industries, then it would be considered a perfectly good use of your money...
Much better than that dreaded "socialism" that might help someone get a medicine they need.
At least the clintons never gave billions of our tax dollars to Haliburton to "fix" New Orleans and then leave the country.
That's about as Un-American as it gets.

There are social programs that they very strongly in favor of:
School Prayer, though not the schools themselves.
A strong military as an employment program. Which can employ even more people because of the rapid turnover you get in War.
"Morality Based" laws, because the cops don't have enough work to do.
And prisons, to feed and house more than two million Americans who would otherwise be out on the streets begging and stealing.
And, of course, private health insurance as a sort of slow eugenics program.

the 1st modification basically restricts the guidelines Congress can bypass. It does not ward off the states from having respected religions, or banning religions, or something like that. If Mississippi votes to make Southern Baptisism the respected faith of that state and tax all others heavily, they have the superb to realize this, as granted with the help of the form.

Thanks God I don't live in America, such a callous attitude towards one's fellow man is sickening.
Remember, anyone can become poor - money can be lost very easily, businesses go bankrupt, people can die or become too ill to work, partners can leave.
And the reason many people are poor is because of the greedy rich people paying them minimum wage and not rewarding them for their efforts.
"Land of the Free" indeed, I'll stick with the UK where there is at least some consideration given to those who weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouths and a rich daddy (like Dubya and Paris Hilton).
We Brits did away with the attitude that the poor are poor because of "genetic or character flaws" in the 19th century!!! Thats positively Dickensian! Sounds like something worthy of Hitler.

I believe that social programs should only be used for people that truly need them. Way too many that are capable of working don't so the taxpayers are forced to support them.
I think we could cut the social program yearly bill by half just by making people work that are capable of it. And what about the women that spit out a new kid every couple of years by another daddy? Why should the taxpayers be forced to support that type of lifestyle?
But like every other govt program in this country, it gets abused by a few until the working people rise up and say ENOUGH!

I read all your answers so far, and just as I already believed, they really do feel that it is every man, woman, and child for themselves. I wonder what they would think if they were to read all the books by one of my favorite authors...Neale Donald Walsch! I wonder if their attitudes would change any?
I seriously doubt it, but I still wonder! *sm*

Every Republican I know LOVES SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE and these are two incredibly huge SOCIAL PROGRAMS.
There are literally hundreds of other SOCIAL PROGRAMS in the US .
Conservatives just love all THE CORPORATE WELFARE PROGRAMS but of course hate any welfare for poor and needy.
Liars all.

I don't know about all conservatives, but the ones who answered here don't seem to believe in ANYTHING that does not benefit them.
It's people like this who make some people in the US disgusted that they even have to be associated with them (by living here).
