Hey all. Just a quick question. I'm going to singapore to meet a friend. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good hotels for about 30GBP (60~USD)? I've been looking through a list, but a lot seem to be in the red light district - something I don't particularly want, heh. ^^;

If anyone has any answers, please could you tell me the average rate per day or a website. Thanks! :)

Also, no resorts please. I really want to see the places. I'm one of those people who like to explore... getting lost is probably a better way of putting it. :P

Check the 'Back Packer' options on this page, http://www.google.com.sg/search?q=Backpacker+hotels+in+Singapore&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

The "Inn Crowd" is the best for ambiance and great folks. There rooms are only about 10GPB per night but you need to book early. The small dorms actually do provide an element of privacy at about 6GPB.

There's also Back Packer hotels on the Indonesian Islands of Batam and Bintan. I believe the room rates are about 15 to 20 GPB because they're almost resorts.

And don't forget Jahor. Hotels there are one/third the cost of Singapore and getting there and back is easy using the MRT and Bus.

Happy Stay
