When none such event ever happened? I'm sick and tired of this awful myth. One news person in the US hinted that the 9/11 terrorists came through Canada... and then publicly admitted he was wrong. But I guess perception is reality right? You speak of the "threat" coming from here...when you have absolutley no justification for making suck claims. It's based on dishonest men speaking lies becuase they can't handle the responsibility for the greatest security fiasco in US history. Stop blaming us for your mistakes, and take responsiblilty yourselves.

It is a big deal though. The amount at stake because of some misconception... it just seems absolutley ridiculous to me.

Trust me, it isn't hard for us to cross the US border at all. I don't need a passport, I've never taken a passport to the USA... in fact once a year ago I got allowed in with ONLY my driver's license. So no.. it isn't hard for me to get in. This misconception simply bothers me.

If it was more difficult now, then how come I still don't need a passport to cross from Alberta to Montana?
Also.. how do you add to your responses, it's kinda cool, and I want to do that.

Right after 9/11 CNN started reporting that the terrorists most likely came in through Canada, of course when it was discovered that this wasn't true they didn't really go out of their way to correct themselves. This is my best guess to how the rumour got started. That and people's bad habits of not actually getting the facts before forming opinions.

It may have started because of the terrorist that came in to Port Angles, WA from Victoria, BC, Canada, While he was not linked to the 9/11 terrorist directly he was al Queda

I think it is resonable that the americans put more security on both there borders.
they never claimed that a terrorist came over one of the borders but are taking neccessary pre-cautions.
and a terroist could cross the border. Its always a possibilty.

You're about 6 years too late with your righteous indignation. Get over yourself... there is important stuff going on... refocus your energy.
My guess is that you are just mad that it is now more difficult for you to enter our country. Well, deal with it. You're not entitled to come here... if you would like the privilege you will have to follow our rules. ;-)
Add: I said it is NOW more difficult. You talking about your border cross a year ago confirms my suspicions.

And Matthew I guess you have all the other answers as well. Of course the US doesn't know every detail and if they did the news media certainly wouldn't get it reported correctly. Please don't believe everything you read and see that is reported because 98% of it is BS. And by the way, who are you so mad at? and why?

It's not a myth, most of them came in through Canada. But don't worry, nobody blames you. We're supposed to be protecting our own borders.
