Of course not!
Celebrating those occasions helps us to remember to not take our loved ones for granted, and to celebrate them in our lives.

I think it's fine to acknowledge anniversaries... But it's stupid to focus on them to the exclusion of everything else. Birthdays and anniversaries are a way for me to keep track of time (or, sometimes, a convenient excuse for a party), not the ends in themselves. I don't even know when our "dating" anniversary is - I remember the month and the year, but not the day.

No, it is not stupid. It is perfectly fine to celebrate any day that has a special meaning for you. Anniversaries, Birthdays, opening day of hunting season (lol), etc. If it is special to you, then celebrate away!!

Wedding anniversaries should be celebrated. Dating anniversaries are ridiculous and will put less emphasis on the annual wedding ones. Don't do it!

My wife and I celebrate the day we met and the day we married. That's two anniversaries every year, and I never forget either one. I don't believe it's stupid.
