ITT is accredited, just not by the same organization that accredits the typical college/university.
A regionally accredited university may or may not accept credits in transfer from a school that is not also regionally accredited.
There is also a level of education/training issue at play. Source of accreditation aside, coursework must be equal level to transfer to a 4-year university. Many courses and programs at technical colleges (such as ITT or even the local Community College) are vocational in nature. Vocational credit will not transfer into an academic program. For example, "Truck Driver Training" probably won't transfer to your local 4-year college even if the school you took it at is accredited by the same organization.
The nature of an AAS is very different than an AA, the former being an applied technical degree and the latter being a transferable academic degree.
Even when two schools are accredited by the same organization, when transferring credit, you are likely to lose some hours. The credit you offer has to apply exactly to the program at the new school. Transferring credits is not an automatic right - it's the privilige of the receiving school.
If you're in the 4th semester now, there isn't much you can do but finish the program you're in and then explore options. The training and education you get at ITT isn't bad - it has a place and a purpose and many ITT grads have achieved success with that education.
What you can (and should) do is find the college you want to attend and seek admission (whether they transfer credit or not). Once admitted you can use alternative methods to validate what you already know. Most schools have a departmental evaluation option that allows you to take an end of course exam for credit and most will accept CLEP and DANTES examinations for credit.
So, let's say you think you already know all of the material for English 101 at Local State University but they don't want to give you credit for your ITT class. Simply take the exam they require for equivalent credit (departmental or CLEP) and move on.
note: a technical degree from a technical college is not less of a degree than an academic degree from an academic college. They're just different things altogether. When looking for a technical employee, employers generally prefer the technical degree. When looking for a general or management employee, they want am academic graduate. An AAS is not a "bad" degree and it's a lot more than the average person has, which is no college education.

ITT Technical Institute is accredited. However, there are a few things you need to know about accreditation. There are regional accreditation agencies and these include the Middle States Association, the New England Association, the North Central Association, the Northwest Association, the Southern Association, and the Western Association. Then there are the national accreditation agencies and these include the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, and the Distance Education and Training Council. For an accrediting agency to be legit, it must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation http://www.chea.org and/or the U. S. Department of Education http://www.ed.gov . ITT Tech is accredited by ACICS and they are a recognized accrediting agency. The regional accrediting agencies have been around longer than the national accreditors. Also, the national accrediting agencies have historically accredited mostly vocational training programs and have only relatively recently started accrediting academic programs. Consequently, many of the regional accrediting agencies feel that they are more prestigious than the national accreditors and this is one of the reasons for the difficulty in transferring from nationally accredited schools to regionally accredited schools. There was a proposed law in Congress this past year that would've made for greater ease of transfer between schools. I'm kind of vague on the details, but I seem to recall that the law was passed, albeit in somewhat weakened form from the original.

ITT is accredited but not through the same organization as most major universities. You will probably lose all the credits. I have an AAS from ITT and the only place that I can get my credits accepted is at you guessed it ITT. When I get out of the Army I am going to go to a regular college and get a new degree.

Well, if your already half way or more finished with ITT then you need to stay and finish, otherwise you just wasted a bucket load of time for nothing. So, finish what your doing at ITT and then enroll into a University, worse case scenario your none the worse for the wear and you have 1 degree and one pseudo-quasi maybe degree...
Are good jobs really gonna over look someone who's got 2 degrees?

Well at least you realized that ITT wasn't a very good school from the get go. I myself went to ITT and I believe that the only school that will take there credit is UOP (University of Phoenix). If you had taken any of the general education classes then that might be more credible then the technical ones

Unfortunately, none of the credits you have taken will transfer into a regionally accredited university. ITT is not regionally accredited. Your best bet is to get out now before you're too far into your education and you're stuck. Best of luck to you.

Go now if you want a college degree. ITT is not regionally accredited (this is what colleges have). Whatever other accreditation they have doesn't matter, it has to be regionally accredited to be recognized by another college or university.

right here is the element, and that's my very own opinion, yet any guy that agreed with the define given by ability of the author is a guy that's has a severe situation with looking and preserving a woman. I’m no longer saying that each women human beings falls into the ‘field’ that the author has created of ladies human beings as an entire. yet i will communicate from the two very own adventure and on the behalf of the ladies human beings who i comprehend individually as quickly as I say that I don’t forget my typical jobs (which ever he feels those typical jobs are) to pass procuring, I’m no longer emotionally needy; hiding in the back of this mirage of independence by using fact i'm autonomous; yet I do opt for my guy to coach me he loves me. It’s the little issues that a guy does for me (and for the different lady) that shows her if he somewhat cares. something so basic as sending me a text cloth to declare i admire you, remembering what my favoirt shade is, or perhaps paying for me something superb (it doesnt' would desire to fee plenty) shows me that he's questioning of me the comparable way that i'm questioning of him (becuase I do the comparable in return). If my guy doesn’t opt for to have small communicate with me or pay attention approximately my day, doesn’t opt for to hold me, doesn’t opt for me touching any of his issues or doesn’t opt for me to question the place I stand with him interior the present relationship we’re in, then to me he doesn’t unquestionably need me around. And while it gets as much as now interior the relationship is while it’s time for me to depart and locate somebody who gained’t innovations doing any of those issues (and not in basic terms tolerate them). There are flaws and nagging themes with a mate which you will desire to tolerate in case you somewhat opt for the relationship to artwork. however the flaws the author of that article defined that ‘nag adult males’ (wherein case somewhat nags him by using fact he doesn’t communicate for all adult males) are issues that surprisingly plenty contain the territory of being in a severe relationship with some women human beings. And in my view, all those issues are minor. So if he can’t cope with the small stuff then he somewhat desires to ask himself if he somewhat needs a severe relationship, or if he basically needs a booty call. by using fact it sounds to me like that’s extra of what he’s finding for thus he doesn’t would desire to deal with the ‘nagging’.
