No they dont hurt, they may be uncomfortable at first but you get used to it. Just be sure you get the slim ones or they may call some of them slender Tampax has the slender one, and since you never used one besure you read the instructions carefully and Im sure your mom can explain it more to you...It was alittle hard for me to us my first time too. But you will be ok heres some websites you can read about them and find the one you think will be the best for you. Good Luck. =)

They can hurt or feel uncomfortable at first and for a while thereafter until you get the hang of it and get use to the feeling. I suggest that you use ones marked junior or lite. I also suggest doing what I do: using the tampons some of the time when you "need" it like for some activities that would be made easier or less embarrassing with using one, and using a pad when you don't "need" one and when you go to bed. Just take care and learn the facts and consider the risks along with the benefits. Good luck!

Don't be scared. Try to relax. When you're ready to use tampons you will. I remember being 11 years old when i first got my period. I was scared too. I had to sit out of swimming at camp -- very embaressing! Anyway, when i first tried it was uncomfortbale, but they have much cooler tampons now.. try the ones that are satin or for teens. At first you'll feel weird, but soon enough you won't even feel them whe inserted properly.

i think the person that came up with them are : )
but anywhos....at first when you start to use them they do feel a little bit uncomfortable but that might be because you dont insert it right! but practice makes perfect so if it feels uncomfortable take it out and try again with a new one. after a while you get used to putting it in and taking it out!
and i do suggest you use them ... i work out, swim and dance alot. if it weren't for the tampons i dont think i would be able to do it .... especially not swimming!
and with the summer heat you really have to!
pads dont feel too good in the heat!
it tells you how you are supposed to insert them on a little paper that comes in the box...make sure you read it!

No, they don't hurt, but at 11 and until your body gets more mature and larger, it would probably best to use pads. They require learning exactly how to insert them in and where to stop.
I began my periods at 13, but did not use Tampons until about 16 or 17, when my size was more mature. It would probably best to wait few years.

no tampons don't hurt. At first it can be scary but worth it. they are much more comfortable than pads for me (if you have it in correctly you won't feel it).
And they can't get lost in there or fall out! Be strong, it's worth it!

just relax, try with a smaller tampon first if it feels ucomfortable try again with another, its probally more comfortable than wearing something that feels like a diaper! if your really unsure of how, use google!
