The point of life is not to score points for an eternity with a skygod.
The point is to leave the world better than you found it. Be a good parent, friend, and person in general. If you leave a good legacy you will have shaped the lives you touched then outward through the world and forward through time.
THAT'S your 'eternal life.'
And, all things considered, it isn't so horrible.
