because they have been replaced by monster movies and killer cartoons/ there isn't much left .

Because..as we grow older, we are told not to accept the wonders of the imagination. This has been passed down from generation to generation...and we all suffer for it.
Being able to retain that childish wonder, that willingness to 'believe' even when we know it is fantasy...could make this world a much happier place. There is a time to be 'serious' but we all should make time to be 'childish' as well. (and I don't mean maturity level either..strictly the ability to allow our imaginations to flourish)
There are many who have been able to hang on, kicking and screaming. You can find some of them here in YA...and you can tell those who keep the child alive from those who simply are immature.
So I say...rock on Alec, mustardseed, and all the rest! Imagination sets you free..and makes us smile.

I stopped believing in Santa when I was 6 & the tooth fairy when I was 8, and I turned out just fine. Just gimme my toys and my money and I'm A-ok!

Because they are all in a hurry to grow up and be like their friends. and before they know it, they are to old to be young again. Its a shame, I die a little inside when the kids on here are so serous. It sad, what "life" they are truly missing. STAY YOUNG AND HAVE FUN!!!!

They find their Christmas presents from "Santa" hidden in the coat closet. Well, that's how I stopped believing.

because an adult has to ruin it and introduce them to the magic of working 10 hours a day,cleaning and cooking for a couch potatoe husband,4 loud kids,and crappy people who craps up your day.
