Honey, they do this every day, in every state all over the country. Now, when roads and bridges are fixed, the money comes out of taxpayers pockets. Do you want to pay every single time they need a new road or bridge? Nope, me meither. This is one of the main problems facing our roads, bridges, etc. today. NOT ENOUGH MONEY to take care of everything. Plus, if it was 98 degrees, you were caught in rush hour traffic, bumper to bumper, wouldn't you be PO'd about it? Yep, and granted, this isn't taken into consideration when roads are scheduled to be fixed, maintained, or whatever, but they do think abou traffic flow, rerouting, detours, etc.

I work for TxDOT and the problem we have is the money it takes to repair these bridges. In Texas we have around 50,000 bridges and the cheapest one will cost about 1 million dollars to build. With population boom coming into Texas, this brings in more traffic that will wear these roads and bridges out faster and we are trying to keep up with it but the money is not there. We have to pick the worst ones to fix first. Then some of the money from the federal government goes to other states with less income or for the war. Between the new roads to be built for the increased traffic and trying to keep up with the roads and bridges we already have, it is an ongoing problem.

Way past time! Why do we wait for something like a bridge to collapse before we can smell the coffee buring!

It's time to rebuils all our roads to use a new fuel less pollution free elelctric power source! You could drive an economy car 60 miles for 5 cents of electricity and pollute nothing!

Our bought and paid for politicians can't stand for their big power campaign contributors to not be able to buy or own this new way to make elelctric power!

Look for Permanent Energy Inc. to go public real soon.

as soon as we pull out troops of the gulf, afganistan, etc. We can spend money on other people or fighting other people(actually if we didn't give a **** about civilians we wouldn't deploy so many ground troops, we would just bomb more), but we can't help ourselves.
