How can two people who want to be with one another affect you in any way? I guarantee that there will always be MORE divorces of xian hetero marriages than there ever will be marriages between gays... and you know it, don't you? My Buddhist wife and I were married in a registry office in Saigon. It was a contract we both signed - there were NO religious over, or even under-tones. There's no 'debate' about gay marriage. There are just people who think all consenting adults have the right to do what they want with each other and those who would deny them. Don't try to attach some sort of righteousness to denying rights to all consenting adults. Don't try to elevate it to some philosophical discourse. Denying people rights is denying people rights. It's that simple. See, I don't care what two or more consenting adults do with-to each other. They can kill, cook and eat each other... or not, for all I care. Louis C K: It doesn't have any effect on your life. What do you care?! People try to talk about it like it's a social issue. Like when you see someone stand up on a talk show and say, "How am I supposed to explain to my children that two men are getting married?... I dunno. It's your shitty kid. You fricken tell 'em. Why is that anyone else's problem? Two guys are in LOVE and they can't get married because you don't want to talk to your ugly child for five fricken minutes?” ~
