Do you think a faint line on a pregnancy test means yes??

Question

I have just come off pill a month ago, been trying for a baby and my period is about 8 days late, I have done two clear blue tests, one yesterday morning and one 10 mins ago, they both showed two lines in the box but both time the horizontal line was very faint, a bit fainter tonight, I feel as though im cracking up, i am going to docs but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the outcome was...i already have a 5 year old but don't want too get too excited in case im wrong!!! Fanatic...you are a nasty person!!! When you are in this situation you will maybe realise how people felt.....and there is actually an report of faulty clear blue tests on the internet just now!!!

YES. Any line is a positive. Take another test. I like first response early.

I was crazy about checking to see if I was pregnant. I bought tests in bulk off ebay. I would use one a week to make sure if I was pregnant that I would'nt mess up and drink or anything. One day I was really dizzy and I thought maybe im pregnant. I had'nt had my period that month but that was normal for me. Im not used to having a regular period. I took a test and it said not to read results after 10 minutes. At 5 min. I read it and it said no. I looked at it at 20min. and there was a very faint line but it did say not to trust results after 10min. so I took another one. The same thing happened. I made a appointment for the next day at my doctors and I went to buy a EPT test. As soon as I finished peeing on it I saw two lines. The doctor comfirmed it the next day. A faint line is still a line! Make a appointment for tommorow and find out for sure but im guessing you are pregnant! Good luck!!!!!

A faint line could just be a water mark, but it could also be a positive result. I had 2 faint tests at home and a negative test from the nurse at a local health centre but when i still hadn't started my period i took a digital clear blue test which was positive. You cant really mistake the word pregnant flashing up at you! i would reccomend the digital test. Good luck.

My wife and I went through the same thing..... and when she showed me the test ( the same one you used), I was like, "baby, this cross line is just barely showing." It looked more to me like the second line bled over from the first one. Needless to say, we went through this twice and both times the second line was very faint. And....both times my wife WAS PREGNANT. She is five months pregnant now with our second child. If you were not pregnant, the second line on that brand of test would not show up at all....period. Those test can give a false negative, because sometimes the urine may not have enough of the hormone that turns the lines blue.....but they never give a false positive. Guess now you should start picking out baby names. Congrads.

With my current pregnancy (I got pregnant while on the pill) I took 3 tests and they all had one line fainter than the other. I was in complete shock and took 2 more LOL! I'm definately pregnant...29 weeks 1 day with another girl :)

A line is a line.. so yep I would say positive. Same thing happened to me this time around. The line was VERY faint, even on the test I took at the doctors office. Congrats!!

as long as you have read the test within the alloted time, as in no longer than 10 mins or whatever it says on the box, any line is a line! when i did my test, i had to hold it up to the light as it was that faint and im now 21 weeks pregnant so congrats hun x

It certainly does! (well in my experience anyway)

Pregnancy tests pick up on your HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels, a hormone which you produce once pregnant. Most test are rigged to read very low HCG levels so as to indicate pregnancy as early as possible so if the lines are faint I would guess that you are pregnant but in the very early stages of your pregnancy.

Your HCG level rises as the pregnancy progresses, I would suggest going to your doctor and having a blood test done, this will give you an accurate reading and a definate answer which I'm sure you're after! :-)

When I took my thousands of tests to see if I was pregnant I had a VERY faint line everytime and I ended up being pregnant after all. Right now I am almost 7 months..so you have a good chance of being pregnant as well. Congratz

Congrats hon, the faint lines on the pregnancy test usually indicate there is a pregnancy. Pregnancy tests usually aren't wrong so it's okay to be a little happy. Good luck.
