It seems like when questins are answered, their judged on the popularity of the answer, not the truth or a good opinion, whover it is that rates Good or Bad answers u might want to be a little less opinionated and look at the answer(the intelligence and validity of it)and not just if it's poular or what u want to hear.

I think when somebody asks a question, they already have some sort of bias--therefore, they have an idea of what the "right" answer is (something with which they agree). Most of these morons on here can't even spell, let alone put together a coherent, rational thought. They're just asking a question to hear what they want, and then exercise their "authority" to determine what is right and wrong. For instance, a Cubs fan may ask, "Which is the better Chicago baseball team," and then give thumbs down to everyone that makes a case for the Sox, just because he/she wants to hear good things about the Cubs and prove his/her own point. At the same time, Cubs and Sox fans will approve or disapprove of an answer based on their own biases and not on the quality and logic of an answer. If you have an opinion, then fine, back it up. If you're only response is, "Cubs rule, Sox suck," go back to the sandbox.

Kinda pathetic, but then again, I respond to some of them, so what does that make me?

I've voiced strong opposing viewpoints and been given the best answer on several occasions. And seen the same happen to other posters even more often. It all depends on the intellectual integrity of the Asker.

I've also posted (what i thought was) obviously humorous remarks and gotten many thumbs down. Some folks' have a funny bone outta whack.

Good question -- gonna give you a star.

No doubt you're right, at least to a degree. I always answer with my gut, and I am delighted to find how many times a person who asks a question seems to change his mind or at least respect my opinion and give me a best answer.
I used to think that after a guy died, if he was banned from baseball, that he should then be eligible for the Hall of Fame. After discussing in this forum and asking two or three questions about it, I was influenced by dissenters to change my mind.
That's why I particularly like this forum. We get to DISCUSS stuff and LEARN stuff. If not everyone does, it's their loss.

I think that a good answer is a truthful answer. I hate it when people lie to me and when you tell the truth it sometimes hurts the person you tell but you don't have that guilty feeling in the back of your head

i'm with you Curtis, a fat chick is a fat chick and no be counted the way you butter your answer up she remains a fat chick. yet if you consider which you do no longer beat around the bush they supply you a thumbs down. It comes right down to human beings no longer liking the certainty and desiring an determination to it including massive boned or cuddly. save telling it as that's Curtis using fact the certainty is obtainable - no be counted how that's positioned.

I think he's talking about you Yankee & Red Sox fans. Most of you are so devoted to your team (that's a good thing), that you automatically give thumbs down to anyone who criticizes your team -- even if it is a valid point.(Not such a good thing)

Let's see those thumbs!! Bring it!!

I would hate to say it but this is true. People do not want to hear the truth just what they want to. Sad if you are ugly and people tell you you are hot.

But they LLLUUUVVVVVVVV validation of their myopic, petty positions.
