There is no such thing as a true party. This time there is one good Democrat (Mike Gravel) and one good Republican (Ron Paul) running for president. This time I'm going for Ron Paul. I mean check this out:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year (Seriously, who else would even think of doing this?)
Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Republican...
And to answer ethe trird party question, Third parties are usless. Even if they stand exactly for what you do, voting for them basicaly throws your vote away. It is imposible (in the case of the presidancy atleast) for an independant to win. So really for your vote to count, you need to select the party that has more similarities to your beleifes. Obviously no party is perfect, you need to side with the one you think will do whats best for America.

I used to be a democrat.. but then after they came into office in 2006 and completely failed us not so much.. I'd say I'm more of a liberal.. and I am voting for the person I think will be best on the issues regardless of gender, race and poltical party. I never thought I'd vote republican.. But Ron Paul seems like the best canidate for me.

Why is it always this side or that side. What about the 3rd party, I mean a lot of people are looking for somebody else to step up because they are tired of the lies Bush aka Scooter Libby, Iraq War, I did not have sex with her, NAFTA is a great things for this country.

It would be greet to see more people seeking answer instead of just siding with a party because they hold some of your views.
