You might want to turn off the status light on your phone. Or reduce the number of seconds on your back-light once you open your phone.
Hope that helps

sounds like its time for a new battery, guy. If you have a long list of names and pictures i can assume this phone is not new, that means that your battery is old.. what happens is batteries need conditioning when you first get them.. you must charge it to the max then let it drain completely empty. what happens is the battery gets conditioned to have a certain amount of charge.. as time goes by you begin to charge it when its not empty yet, the battery becomes conditioned to have less of an amount of charge, and if you use a car charger its even worse because the charge is weak.. as time goes by that is the nature of batteries and then hold less and less charge.. time to get a new battery.. nothing you can do to fix it..

It's the cellular technology Verizon uses called CDMA. It naturally is a battery hog and even leaving it on doing nothing for 3 days you can have a dead battery. GSM phones from Cingular and T-Mobile can go weeks on standby.
@ Jake: Being in an EV-DO coverage area doesn't drain your battery. That would only be a factor if he was in a fringe area a.k.a. switching constantly from 1x To Ev.

It's kind of funny but if your phone isnt in a service area for a few minutes then it runs out of batteries really quickly because it is searching for satellite service

I have the same problem with my AT&T phone! I think my phone's problem is that I didn't charge it completely the first time then let it die completely so the battery's memory is not at its fullest.

it could be the 3g ev-do connection. that is what drains the battery the most in 3g phones.
