You could look for other chores to do beside mowing lawns. Washing windows, raking leaves, shoveling snow in the winter, weeding gardens, walking dogs, washing cars are a few. Maybe hold a garage sale and make some money off junk you don't want anymore. Or have a bake sale and sell cookies, brownies, cheap otter pops or popsicles, soda, rice crispy treats, etc. You could also take gently used clothes to a resale shop.

Maybe everyone cuts their own lawns because nobody is available to do it for them.
Get off your butt and pound the streets.
How many lawns in your town?
Lets say for arguement there are 100 lawns in your neighorhood. You could feasibly charge $10 each to mow and $20 each to mow and edge. Knock on all their doors and sell your lawn mowing prowess.
At least 80 percent of the people you ask say will say no. It sucks and is discouraging...
However, if 80 percent say no, then 20 percent will say yes. Out of 100 lawns that's 20 lawns.
Hmm, at $20 each that's $400 every two weeks.
Trust me, not everyone in town wants to mow their lawn. You gotta work at it. It's about salesmanship. Put an ad in the paper, stick flyers in doorknobs, then get out and hit the streets.

Cleaning, kitchenwork, packing, running errands, gardening, are some of the jobs available. These jobs will be posted in local newspapers and billboards. A better option is to work from home on your computer - write articles, sell on eBay, make a website, take surveys. In some cases, you may have to set up an account in your parents or guardians name, and ask them to pay you, after they get the money for your work. I still don't see how mountains prevent you from having a paper route. If the only routes require driving, the mountains have nothing to do with that.
