Sulfur is flammable. It gives a blue flame and produces sulfur dioxide, SO2, which has an acrid odor. Rotten egg odor comes from Hydrogen sulfide, H2S. It cn be obtained from a chemical supply company. Ask at a drug store. At an old fashioned drug store you may be able to obtain it. It does not require a permit.
