start writing. Frankenstien was a dream and now its a classic.
I actually asked a movie screenwriter this exact same question. he said," Keep writing. one idea can become so many. Dont get stuck on one."
Sooo start writing. Take a weekend class on script writing and your ideas will flow.

The stock answer is: Move to L.A., wait on tables, and then become a producer. :-) In the meantime, you should describe the plot and your casting ideas in what's called a "treatment," which is like a 3-5 page short story. Once you have "fixed" this idea in a tangible form, it is copyrighted. After that, you can try to send it around to "get a meeting" with a producer, but very people "outside the loop" make it this far. You may also want to try filming a brief scene or trailer and uploading to YouTube, maybe enter some local film contests, to generate some buzz. Lots of people are trying it, few succeed, but don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. There's always room for a great story and good storytelling. Good Luck!

Though I also come up with ideas for movie plots, I've never had a plot that I'm sure of.
Try posting a summary online and ask what the public thinks of your idea. If they like it, you may be ready for the next step: finding a way for a producer to like your idea!

Okay big Q, here's what I would do: First you get a scrapbook to write down any idea that would come to mind. Write down any thing that would inspire a movie plot. Sometimes it would be one item that would inspire a story all it's own. Sometimes it would be a lot of items that would get your attention and you can find ways to connect and intertwine these things and events. You can also be inspired by other movies, but the story has to be original. Also the certain events that would catch your eye must be one up in your story. You have to flesh out the details to capture the attention of your audience and build up the suspense to keep the audience wanting more. You can go through the dictionary to find whic word would fit which event. Then, after you finally finish the story, put it in a script. You can search for a book on writing scripts. (I doubt that any library would not have one.) You can even outsource a reliable professional who is a master in script-writing (but that would be expensive). After that, you have to sell your script to a movie director/producer to make it a reality, unless you have your own film production company. If you want your own company, you have to go to university to earn a degree in film making. E-mail me for more details on this one(hte story writing, of course).

Write a script and get some friends and others to play in the roles. You could even hold open casting auditions at your house. Just post flyers at your church or on bulletins in the grocery stores. You also need to get a film crew together. It should be fun. After you've cast your actors, get a camera and get rolling. Good luck!!!

Well, start by writing a movie script. It's easiest if you do it on the computer, but don't post it anywhere online. Then try to get in touch with an agent, and take it from there.

Sad fact of life...(sorry to burst your bubble...)
Almost 99% of careers, such as "Script Writer" for a major movie production company, are fallen into through nepotism (relatives), location of where you live, and WHO you know...
The other 1% is talent and preserverence...
Good luck...!!! (good ideas for a movie number in the Billions...hope yours is "original..."...but I can only dream...)

Write your screenplay like the thousands of other potential moviemakers out there, move to California and become a server until you can sell it.

talk to people about your idea and see what they think about it, you might be able to develop it into a really good plot that could be used but honestly i dont know what you could do after that.
sorry
