They have a young QB that has yet to really prove himself. They have a defense that was really slacking last year, though I don't understand why. And they're in the most competitive division in football. I think the addition of London Fletcher-Baker and Laron Landry help out the D a good bit. Unfortunately, they didn't do anything to address the glaring problem with their team, which is their D-Line. I love the Skins, but I think they'll be lucky to go 8-8.

there are no "experts".. its a guess either way whether I state that Campbell is way better in a game than people think he is from what they've seen in practice or not.. and if I follow that up with they have a solid returning 1000 yard rusher in Betts.. Santana Moss and Cooley on the outside (and I bet they can't outrun Campbell's arm).. a decent defense with a secondary that could be stellar with Landry, Rogers, and Taylor.. so I think Washington could be a suprise team this year.. I don't see much reason why they won't threaten the playoffs even in that division because I think the Cowboys and Giants are badly overrated

Because they are!
What did they do in the draft?
Took a safety they didn't really need in LaRon Landry.
He is the same type of player that Sean Taylor is.
Then in the next 4 round they didn't even have a pick nor did they trade to get one.
Free Agency was also pathetic for them they did nothing!
Lastly, they have a QB in Jason Cambell who has yet to prove himself as a good NFL QB. Once he establishes that then the experts will lay off. I hate some experts becuz if a team doesn't have a pro bowl QB then they just think they will suck. Which is not always true becuz the Bears were good and Grossman sucked.

because they always go by the way they played the year before if the redskins stay healthy unlike last year they will be a threat just like they were in 2005 when they were in the playoffs ,people just assume they were just that bad last year ,but when you look at the fact the d-line was injured all year along with the secondary in springs and rogers missing alot of time it made the d look horrible adding depth like they did to the secondary with smoot coming back and landry to compliment taylor the D will rise to what it was the 2005 season when it was 3rd in the league. Not to mention portis was not healthy ,with him back in the fold along with betts they will have a solid running attack and campbell will prove hes the real deal at qb so let all the people look past us thats not a bad thing because this way we will sneak up on those who overlook us this year and roll back into the playoffs this year HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

Because they still don't have a QB.
ADD: I think some of us are confused. Are you talking about the Washington Redskins or the University of Washington?
Whatever the case my answer is for the Redskins.
