I'm a 21 y.o. who is still undecided on what she wants to do with her life/taking 1 yr off to do a post-bac in either NY or Boston.
I like to go out but I don't drink, don't party hard. I like coffee, dinner/movies, shopping, big cities, & cultural diversity.
I love the fact that you can walk anywhere in Manhattan or Boston, the parks, changing of the seasons...I love the feel of a city that never sleeps/always has something going on.
I'd like to date around. I thought up 'till recently that I was looking for something that could become serious, but hey, I'm only 21! Why rush things?!
**Which city is best for me TO LIVE IN for 1 yr and
WHY?**

Jackal, you are Offensive and Stupid. You could have at least come up with a more apporpriate insult for a complete stranger, but for all your probable anti-social tendancies, all you could do is curse at me (and cursing is nothing more than the vulgar expression of angry people with limited vocabulary).

Hands down its NYC we have it all right in Manhattan, shops, eats, clubs and more museums in that magnificent mile, than you can shake a stick at.
We have a wide range of post grad school with good reputations that won't put you back 40K a year....unless you have it like that. You can live in queens, Brooklyn and be 7-10 stops away from mid-town.

Chicago. It has all of the excitement and diversity of New York, without the rudeness and at a slower pace.
We get to see the Broadway plays first because many of them are written and polished here. We have so many bands that a friend of mine who can't fill a decent sized room here, draws large crowds and press coverage whenever he's on tour.
You can find shopping of every kind here, from the boutiques and Department stores of the magic mile to flea markets to some incredible resale shops.
I doubt that you'll find more diversity in Cuisine anywhere. Not only restaurants of all culture's but unique fusion cuisines, like supertacos on pita or being able to order a side of grits with your Akutegawa.
And Celebrities are easy to find, because papazzi aren't. It's no big deal to find yourself in an El car or a bar, with a well known politician, author, comic or even Kevin Spacey.
The entire Lakefront is parkland, a nearly unbroken stretch 20 miles long with parks scattered throughout the City and large Forest preserves nearby.
And there are plenty of easily available jobs in the dining and entertainment industries, while you're waiting to figure out what you want to do in the long term.

It sounds to me like maybe you should live in BOTH cities for a year! Well, maybe not. That sounds too chaotic. And expensive! Have you been to either cities? If not, then maybe you should VISIT the two cities first and see which one you like better. Once you find out which city you like better, then that's when you should go to that city and live for a year. I'm only saying to visit the cities first because it sounds like you have no idea which city you like better. Visiting would help speed up the process of choosing where to live.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

San diego is a pretty good city. I live here and there are many clubs here. They are very nice and the fact that you do not drink is better cause the drinks are just too expensive, but the clubs are very nice and play good music till 4am.
You meet many guys in the club to just date. I have a few clubs and people who go out alot in san diego on my myspace. Just email me if you decide coming here and I will foward their profile to yours....so that you can get on the ball to experiencing the nightlife on crazy SAN DIEGO...Good Luck on your search and have fun

I haven't been to either city, but if it was me, I would definitely choose NYC. It seems so full of life and I personally love the idea of a city that never sleeps. Go where your heart takes you.

Ok, come to Scotland, see Edinburgh. It has amazing shopping, beautifull scenery, the castle, it's got decent weather, a rich history and amazing views. Just don't walk alone at night.
