The infrastructure in the U.S. is declining and in disrepair (remind anyone of the levees in Katrina?) while we are spending so much on this war? Anyone want to predict what Bush will say publicly about this?

A.J. Do your research on Federal Highway grants and where themoney has been diverted for the past few years then come back and give an educated answer. I'm not blaming anyone - I just think its frustrating we are spending so much in other places while our domestic agendas fail.

Note: Bush hasn't said a word yet? It's 5PM ET 8/2/07 here.. His "homeland security" never even showed up last night as I watched the coverage about the bridge, until midnight. Good thing those people took charge, on their own and had a plan, on their own.. WE should ALL learn from this and Katrina, call and demand our roads get fixed etc.... The Government isn't coming, don't expect them to.. Bush sent the whole National Guard over to Iraq to be wasted for HIS MISTAKE..(his lies) we're on our own here.. Trillions of OUR dollars that could rebuild OUR roads, but are wasted in Iraq by the day.. Millions more LOST of our $$ in Iraq while our schools can't afford Gym class for over weight kids.. etc etc..Millions LOST of our money on contractor fraud that NO ONE is investigating.."Your tax dollars hard at work"..helping big Corp's make more on our backs,, due to Bush and Co..
Impeach Bush before he allows one more thing to happen, we can't wait until 2008..He'll ruin us by then.. Every day we waste with him in office, is a day cities waste money on raised taxes instead of roads..schools etc, because of his ideas to "help his corp buddies",,not we the people.. Name one thing he's done for "we the people"? It's all for Corp America,,not us..That bridge probably would have been fixed had they more money..less taxes..

Unfortunately, the decline of infrastructure like that has been a problem for much longer than Bush has been around. It's been an issue at least back well into the 80s. Bush Sr. did nothing about it. Clinton did nothing about it. Now Bush Jr. has done nothing about it.

My bet is that whoever wins the next election will do nothing about it either.

Hell, you should see the roads in Texas. They finally redid a bridge in my town only to find that in time they will need to expand the highway. I dont understand why they did not build to the future of the county. Being that its only going to grow, yet they are planing on removed and rebuilding three more bridges just the same. Getting my baseball bat and heading down town soon.

I don't have to predict. Dubya came out this afternoon, said a few catch phrase words about the tragedy in Minnesota, then immediately began firing political shots at Democrats in congress. His comments about the collapse were not the place to engage in partisan politics and his performance was disgusting.

This is a sad day for many.It will effect many of lives. Share with me what Bush should say except what we all know already. You can't expect the President of the United states to micro manage Town/City and state government. The state puts these contracts up for bid...It's hard to say what went wrong ...but you can't blame Bush for this one I am sorry.

He will say, with his eyes, as he winks to his war crazed and greed addicted followers:

"We don't need no stinkin' infrastructure. If it breaks, Halliburton will get the contract to build the next one."
