Try these drills:

What is stopping you from getting the bhs? Can you do it with a spot but not alone? Can you not even do it with a spot? Where does it fall apart for you? Without a little more info it is hard to give you advice that will help you fix it.

Go to the link above and try the drills. Also visit the links below on that page. Coach Wayne's site has great info on how to fix bad handsprings. Maybe you will see your problem there and be able to get some tips. :^)

Try having someone spot you and help you to swing your legs over. After having someone help and feeling what your back handspring should feel like try it again on your own.

Or...try it in the water. It is harder to land, but it doesn't hurt as much when you fall. I mean fairly shallow water, like waist level or even a little lower.

Good luck.

im having the same problem. i just posted a question about it too. people have been telling me for a while to make sure to lock your arms and jump a lot. also dont be afraid because the worst thing that can happen is that you will fall on your head and the best is that you will get your spring.
good luck on getting it :]

I'm a gymnast and just make sure you practice, practice, practice and watch your fingers go back, keep your arms straight, point your toes and try to get length instead of height. Hope I helped!

try to go to a gymnastics gym for open tumbling classes .. also, you could ask your coaches to go about 15 minutes early to practice and have girls spot you on a mat .. just keep your arms straight and jump high (: good luck, you can also google it to get help

Keep trying, but don't over do it. You don't want to hurt yourself.

Gosh am I glad I quit cheerleading.

i used to do gymnastics. just practive a lot. start on a tramp, then on a mat, then after a while you should be able to do it!

you just have to keep practicing. but you cant give up if you dont get it soon enough.

and once you do get it you have to keep doing it or your going to lose it.
