Not all Americans do... I don't. In fact I hadn't heard anyone making fun of Canada until I watched South Park (cartoon for adults).
I went to college with several Canadians, and I never heard anyone making fun then either.

It's a combination of it's proximity, and it's stereotype of being kind of boring and sterile. I don't think we make fun of Canada very much though. Certainly not compared to a lot of places. The parts I've been to are awesome. I used to go fishing in Eastern Canada every summer...caught walleye and pike. Then later I traveled to Montreal and loved it. I'm sure Canadians make fun of America too.

I have no idea what you're talking aboot. Nah, I'm kidding. I'm from the US and I've never made fun of Canada or any other country for that matter. I think a lot of Americans just tend to be too prideful for their own good.

Everyone makes fun of something that is different. Hey, I'm from the south, and I know people make fun of our "accents" and the way we live. Well, we make fun of other people from different areas, too! So it is not just Americans making fun of Canadians. The whole world is at it.

I just took a trip to Canada, and I like it better than the US. (No offense) It's cleaner and they really care about the environment. I wonder why they make fun of Canada, too.

I really respect Canadians. Canadian commandos rescued United States hostages when the US couldn't do it.

I think it's solely for the purpose of making sure everyone hates universal healthcare.
everyone is so afraid of universal healthcare, so they make fun of canada and france to overshadow their healthcare systems that are so much better than ours.

I have always heard it was the other way around, either or, it's much like making fun of your neighbor, in my state we are always joking about the people from the state next door and visa versa, you don't bother to joke around about people you don't like.
