Yes, the universe/spirit/deity/whatever you believe can grant you more than three wishes. But you have to wish for what's best for you, not the things you want. As I'm fond of saying "who am I to know what's best for me".

Anyone can "grant" you 3 wishes. Once the wishes are said as has been granted, those that can consistently expedite the wishes coming to fruition are few and far between.
