Not really, in the first place where did they get all these figures so fast? and, I have no bridges to cross so. 70 to 80 thousand, why do you people fall for this crap all the time. You know how long it would take them just to find out where all these bridges are, let alone check them.

That would be 1600 bridges in each state which I would guess would be all the bridges in every state, some have no where close to this amount so, that means some state would have over 2000 bridges that were no good.

I don't think the United states has anywhere near this many bridges, it's ludicrous. The babbling of another doom Sayer.

Yep, scares the heck outta me! Though, there aren't too many bridges where I live...When I lived in Florida I had to cross a bridge almost every day...and it was a big bridge....so, the fact that 70,000 to 80,000 bridges are impaired is kinda startling...

Edit:

fionabtoo: Hahaha, I was going to write about how libs wouldn't believe it cause it came from Fox news, but I thought against it because i figured no one would care about where the statistics came from...thanks for proving me wrong.

The numbers may be inflated but it is true about so many being "structurally impaired" but most of those are in small town settings like where I live that have counties and townships that just don't have the ash reserves to fix ALL the roads and bridges in their area.

My uncle works for the county and sees this all too often but if their aren't enough taxpayers living in certain areas the local governments just don't have the money to fix EVERYTHING!!

I live near Portland-- City of 14 Bridges!! Yeah, I think it might be wise to check into our transport system, make sure they're on the ball, and let elected leaders know we'll be holding them accountable for keeping up our bridges in particular.

Besides all this, we must trust in G-d. Our dependence upon Him makes up a great deal of what life's all about, and He honors that.

It would scare me if it was someone other than FOX that reported it. They have that reputation for not verifying stories and the info came just way too fast to be accurate.

Fox News scares you? That's what it is there for.

But seriously, try driving through Detroit. Sometimes the concrete falling from the overpasses really does just fall. (Usually it is thrown.)
