i understand lipstick and eye shadow etc as they elaborate areas that are attractive also make up is used to present clear skin which is considered attractive however nail polish?!!!

i dont mean this to sound rude but guys never ever EVER care what a girls look like so i dont understand why they need to look pretty so far ive got theyre pretty and make me feel better......

nail polish is also a sign of beauty.It's just really fun to paint your nails and ummm,.... well....wow, this is a pretty good and complicated question.I never really thought of that.Well, since other people paints thier nails, well, i guess that's why i paint my nails as well.because that's what other girls do and it's fun.

To make nails look like candy!!
No actually in very very old times you could tell if a woman was healthy by the length of her nails, good nutrition good nails, so over time people found a way to elaborate this feature.
It has crossed over to our generation with out what appears to be a purpose, but I do know some guys that love women who get their nails done cause it show attention to detail. And if they take care of their nails imagine their other grooming habbits.

It turns nails into sortof an accessory to go with your outfits and stuff. Like makeup, nailpolish can hide flaws too. Some people have slightly yellow nails, sometimes the white part is like all uneven and weird looking ect. and nail polish covers it up

Makes your nail look uniform. If you have lousy shaped nails but they grow OK without flaking you can grow them out, shape them, paint them and they will look like you have good nails. Good nails is a sign of good health. Signs of good health are pleasing to the eye. In this regard, it is similar to blush.
It also draws attention to your hands. Showing off your hands is sexy.
If you live in a city and you walk around all day without a chance to wash your hands your nails get this grey rim if you know what I mean. Nail polish takes care of it.

It's pretty, it comes in a variety of colors, and you can enhance how your nails look. A lot of people in the business world get maincures and use nail polish because they like to have nice looking hands.

I guess that nail polish is just for decorating your body some people think it is attractive some people dont frankly i like manicures, but I am not a huge fan of nail polish.

Well, I like the natural look for nail polish--like a french manicure. But I guess the point is to make your nails look pretty?! You never know who might be looking(that hot guy at A+F?!!!).

Some girls just like wearing nail polish cause it makes their nails look prettier. And besides, if you don't like how ur nails look, you can alwayz cover it up with nail polish. I duno, I jus like putting nail polish on cause then ur nails wouldn't look so plain.

nail polish accentuate nails. and look really cute when the match your outfit. but nail polish also helps keep your nails healthy. now they sell nail polish with hardeners that keep fragile nails strong.
