i know they got KG perhaps the best player in the league but i mean like wasnt that a bit too much 7 PLAYERS FOR KG (including the draft picks) IT IS ALMOST AN NBA ROSTER. the minimum players a team can have is 8 on a roster. and now they have a good starting lineup but who is going to step up when any one of these players sits down WOW.

They did what they had to, the players that they had didn't win anyy games, I would of gutted the whole damn roster and started over, at least now Boston looks like a playoff team instead of an perinial lotto team.

The C's did get one of the best 5 players in the league. They traded 2 crap players(ratliff,telfair), 2 decent players(gomes,green) and the next zach randolph(minus the attitude). They gave back Minny's future lottery pick now and their own #20 draft pick. I would say the C's made a good trade. The problem is that is was made so late, now many of the mid level free agents are off the market. They will have to fill the bench with whoever they can get there hands on now. But it was worth it, they now have 3 potential HoF's. They should be able to find decent role players to fill in the next few years.

Any time you acquire one of the top 50 players of all time, while simultaneously becoming a favorite to make the Finals, you have not been "used." The mere fact that the Celtics have gone from a laughing-stock to championship contender with one trade suggests that they got the better end of the deal. Metaphorically speaking, the Al Jefferson Combo is a Happy Meal, while KG is a filet mignon. It's like the Celtics gave seven one-dollar bills for Minnesota's single hundred-dollar bill. My point is, it makes no difference how many players Boston gave up (considering they were mostly garbage anyway); Kevin Garnett is worth it.

I sort of agree with Randy H. Al Jefferson has a very good chance to become a star, and Gerald Green has some chance of it, but I think he probably won't be that good.
One of the "players" was Theo Ratliff, who probably won't play at all.
One was Sebastian Telfair, whom the Celtics might have released if they hadn't been able to trade him, because they're fed up with his bad behavior.
And the final one was Ryan Gomes, who's a great kid, and a good role player who gives a great effort, but he lacks the natural talent to be any more than a great role player.
You have to ask yourself whether any of these guys could ever be the best player on a championship team. Jefferson is a maybe, the rest are all definite no's.

Fans out in LA are livid that they didnt get Garnett..but look what Boston had to give up.....Jefferson, Green, Gomes, Telfair , Ratlief, 2 1st round draft picks...Minnesota didnt get better but they got everything they possibly could that was out there.....LA did not have the young talent that Boston had...I dont believe all those other players will amount to much but at least Jefferson was a 16 and 11 guy at age 22....Bynum still has not accomplished that.

playoff contenders for the next couple of years, but no championships guaranteed (I am not even going to pick them to win the very good East)... this was a move just to save Danny Aigne's job and to get the fans/media in Boston off the back of the front office... wow this deal is like trading a 100 dollar bill for seven 50 dollar bills... anyone want to make this kind of trade with me? Already I see matchup problems for this team against the likes of Detroit, Chicago, and a healthy Miami team.

hey man, i heard the Celtics' gonna get a bunch of veteran players to fill their benches...and for sure, those veteran players' should sacrifice financially for the minimum salary the Celtics can offer.
it's a sacrifice that may give them a shot at the NBA Champoinship...(Reuben Patterson, Chris Webber, Pau Gasol...et al...)
