Painless, compared to the rest of the birth.
By the time the afterbirth is pushed out, you are so overjoyed that the BABY is out that any pain associated with it is lost.
I can't even remember pushing it out.

Feels the same as pushing out the baby but you dont have to push as hard usually. You might feel a slight tug on your insides, like a release.
After birth you lay there with your legs spread eagle and wait for them to clean you up and check out your uterus and afterbirth. If there are any tears in the afterbirth, there may be tearing in your uterus which is bad. If you need stitches, they will do them then and then you get to be heeved back up into a sitting position and get to hold your baby!

The afterbirth comes out right after the baby is born. You don't really feel it other than you feel like you're passing a huge squishy clot. It's not painful (and once you've gotten thru the birth itself, pushing out afterbirth is a walk in the park). Trust me, I went thru 2 natural childbirths without drugs. Afterbirth is nothing. Good luck!

A lot of women don't even remember delivering the afterbirth because they are to wound up because of the new arrival. It's a lot littler than the baby and I have heard you don't even feel it coming out, the worse that happens is the nurse has to push on your stomach at time to get it out.

It just kinda falls out with a little push. The afterbirth is sooo not the hard part! lol. And, the palcenta is pretty nasty looking.

The afterbirth is SOOO much easier than the actual baby...pushing on a contraction helps, too.

Well, I remember it as being fairly mega - nothing like pushing out the baby of course, but, how can I put it - noticeable!
However, I've given birth twice and only remember one afterbirth - so .....
Hope you get pregnant soonl. :-)

The afterbirth just pretty much follows the baby out, I think. You don't have to push it out.

i just had my second baby, this one without any meds. pushing out the after birth was a walk in the park compared to pushing out the baby. it took one push and it felt like a little bubble. i don't know how else to explain it, but it was the easiest part. if you decide to go naturally without meds, than be prepared for ANYTHING! i was having contractions and was starting to feel like i had to poop as well. they gave me an enema. i went into the bathroom, did that business and was having the contractions worse. when i had those contractions i felt like i had to push. within minutes he was born. do stretches, read up on stretching your vagina. trust me, if you stretch it, you will have less chance of tearing. i tore and have stitches.... not fun.
hope i answered your question and then some

It's easier than giving birth because it's soft and smaller than a baby, but it's pretty much the same sort of feel-a-contraction-and-push kind of thing.
I think there isn't much written about it because after you've had the baby, you just don't care.
