while I agree, I can say that at least a little water is better than those women I've seen in the restrooms not even use the water (not even wash their hands) because they don't want infection from the water that would settle under their fake fingernails or that would loosen the glue and ruin their manicure.
Sometimes the soap (and depending on which season a person is in because in winter the water can possibly not dry fully and cause fissures in the skin that hurt like paper cuts) is too strong for the hands.
That being said, places like Publix (our grocery store here) now has for the public to use Clorox handiwipes at the door when you arrive so that you can wipe off the grocery cart if you so desire.
When I come in from the grocery store the first thing I do is drop the packages and wash my hands with antibacterial soap, and again after I've put the groceries away and handled the plastic bags. Plus I use a lot of Clorox and Lysol spray in my home. I know that too much anitbacterial soap, the public is being told, is making bacteria mutate and multiply faster than they ever have in years past, but I still use the antibacterials, sprays, wipes, etc. I know you can't keep a box of handiwipes (maybe with alcohol in it) in your car as they will dry out....but maybe you can carry some in your purse.

While I think it's good to wash your hands after using the bathroom, I'd be more worried about what's in the water than the pee; don't you know that a healthy person's pee is completely sterile? I don't really understand germophobes- hasn't anyone noticed the connection between all the recent germ phobia and the fact that so many people now have allergies and weak immune systems? If you are never exposed to anything, your body never learns to fight anything!

I agree, that is nasty. Girl, alternate between antimicrobial and antibacterial soaps and just keep washing your hands. If you want to get really grossed out, buy the book The Secret Life of Germs. It's amazing.

agree that its gross? yes. i wash my hands with soap every time i use the potty. When i use a public restroom i use some paper towels to open the door when i leave or i tap the Handy-cap button. they have them every where now. Maybe the next time you see some one do that, call them out on it. Ask them how come you didn't use soap? Or let them know they are a gross*ss.
