I think that they do, with their top competition being the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox are very evenly rounded, and actually have better pitching than hitting this year. Their bullpen was the best in the league at an ERA near 2.70, and that was before they got rid of Joel Pineiro and added Eric Gagne. The have depth in their offense and bench and great players offensively. I think that they will either win the World Series (hopefully), or lose to the Tigers in the ALCS Championship game.

Yes the yankees are still 7.5 games back and with a loss today against chicago it will put them 8.5 back(Red sox just won 7-4). The loser of the AL central has wild card so they dont have to worry about the whole rivalry series. We have beaten the tigers and the indians before so i would say we should be fine getting there but most likely facing Chicago, Milwaukee, or San Diego could prove hard. I think if we there we win...the only team i am afraid of in the bunch is Chicago.

Yes, their offense is suspect, but pitching wins championships. It will be a great year for Boston sports too, Patriots have a great shot at the Super Bowl, and i agree with all the experts who say the Celtics have a great chance of winning the Eastern Conference, but i think they would have a good shot at beating someone from the West in the finals, too.

everybody has a chance, but GOOD chance their are few and the Red Sox certainly are one team with a GOOD chance,i would also include the Cubs,Brewers,Padres,Angels,Tigers and even cleveland on that list,do the sox have the best chance of these teams i'd say yes,but it's certainly not a lock.

They have the best bullpen in the MLB.
They have a great mix of power and speed up and down the lineup.
They have an above average rotation.
They have a deep bench.
They have the BEST chance to win the WS this year.

Two weeks ago I would have said Detroit. Detroit and Cleveland are struggling....Seattle is close in the wildcard race...and the Yankees will also be lurking around.I feel the Angels will win out west...Detroit Wins the central..RedSox win too...Seattle will win the wildcard race over Cleveland. Yankees are to unpredictable.Seattle will upset the Redsox. I still feel that Detroit will win AL.NYMets win NL...Detroit over Mets in 6.

The Sox dropping a game against their b*tches from Anaheim does not bode well for them in the rest of the postseason. It never looks good on the hammer when the nail hits it back, even for just once.
