Well, i have TDK 4.7GB DVD+R DVDs and my laptop's cd drive is a dual layer CD/DVD burner DVD+R DL, but every time i put a Blank DVD in my computer doesn't recognize it, it recognizes that there is a blank disk in there and prompts me to burn it, but it recognizes it as a cd wit "0mb/0mb free" i think i need to format the DVD's any suggestions?

You may have the wrong type of DVDs. This probably isnt it but just to be sure you cover all the bases, check and see that your burner can handle DVD+R and DVD-R. That could be the problem. Also, windows is dumb in that its writing software is optimized and designed for writing audio. You would need something like Nero to write DVDs. At least for me and my HP writer, i need nero to burn DVDs because windows couldnt do it via drag and drop.

Hi. DVDs do not need formatting. There will be some brands of disk that may work better. You may have to try a few. My burner likes Ridata even though that may not be the best brand for you.
